The End of the Year is Near! Print

The end of the year is near!

The holidays will be upon us soon, the goose isn’t the only one getting fat and time will be the most precious commodity that everyone finds scarce at this time of year……but we hope you will take time out of your busy schedules to mingle with your professional peers at the last ISCEBS social event this year, the Chapter Annual Meeting.  The Annual Meeting will be held at the historical Union League Club Chicago.  Those who attended this event last year will tell you that the ambiance in the Main Dining room is magnificent and the buffet is sumptuous.  But the chance to meet with your professional peers in this lovely holiday and historical atmosphere is invaluable.  When you are there, you may even want to plan some extra time to view the ULCC art collection, https://www.ulcc.org/

At the Annual Meeting event you will get a chance to exercise the privilege as a Chapter member to vote in the officers for the 2016 ISCEBS Chapter Board.

Interested in serving or know someone who can lend their talents to the Chicago Chapter Board?  Read on….on how to make a nomination.

    Networking, Networking, Networking

Location, Location, Location….did you know that this term originated in Chicago?

According to William Safire of the New York Times Magazine (June 26,2009), the original quote came from a 1926 Chicago Tribune real estate classified ad, “Attention salesmen, sales managers: location, location, location, close to Rogers Park”.

ISCEBS should coin this new phrase! BUT networking is just one of the many valuable benefits that you receive as a local Chapter member.  A variety of professionally conducted Educational Programs are planned throughout the year in addition to the two main social networking events.  Be sure to include your local chapter membership in 2016 when you renew your membership with ISCEBS.

This year our annual summer social event was held under the stars at Millennium Park and our upcoming Annual Meeting will once again be held at historical Union League Club of Chicago.

To all the Board members that served in 2015. It has been a great privilege to serve as the Chapter President.  The President is only as good as the staff that surrounds her.  Andy, Jim, Frank and Tim, your dedication, leadership and creative talents have made the Chicago Chapter more progressive and valuable to our Chicago benefits professionals.  And Jerry, special thanks goes out to you for your tutelage and guidance as Past President.  Your wisdom and knowledge is astounding.  And thank you for hosting the ULCC venue again for all of us to enjoy.  Thank you all for your dedicated service!

    Bring it on……

    Become a Member

Save $$ in 2016 by becoming a member today!

In 2015 the Chicago Chapter was able to present all educational programs as complimentary regardless of your membership standing.  Unfortunately, the Chicago Chapter will not be able to make this same offer in 2016.

Beginning 2016, the Chicago Chapter will need to start charging for the educational programming in some form.  In most cases, the programming will be free to members.  In all cases, there will be a charge for non-members.

Make a commitment to yourself as well as your local Chicago Chapter and become a member in 2016.  Check with your employer, they may be willing to support your membership dues.

Picture yourself here having lunch on December 9th enjoying lively conversation with your professional peers.
